Recreation Program Our
philosophy: People feel healthier when they can control
their own lives. One place where this independence is
particularly fostered is in our Recreation
Program. Our
residents' needs and interests are sure to be met with
our diverse recreational activities. We have daytime and
evening programs, seven days a week. Staff and even
other residents encourage everyone to
participate. |

Local
musicians and craftspeople complement our staff and
volunteers. Movies, bingo, games, field trips, social
hours, cooking programs, discussion groups, and a
variety of religious programs and services are offered.
Our active music program features 4 pianos, with many
people to play them, and local musicians who offer
regular musical
programs. |
One-on-one
volunteer visits are available and offered to all
residents who request visits. Massage therapists from
the local massage school offer their skills for
relaxation and therapeutic treatment.

On
Tuesdays, our residents enjoy freshly popped popcorn.
Residents and visitors also enjoy the resident and
volunteer-staffed Corner Store next door to the Council
Café, where residents can (and do) play games, enjoy a
cup of coffee, and surf the
Internet. |
Pets, Peds,
and Plants Project Lakeside's
commitment to bringing life and laughter to residents is
apparent through the many domestic animals that live
here, through the inclusion of children in various
projects and programs, and through encouraging resident
involvement with outside gardens and indoor plants.
Certified pet therapists bring a touch of home with
their trained, friendly companion
animals.
